The Miami Bayside Foundation Presents a Community Networking Event

The Miami Bayside Foundation endowed a scholarship fund at Miami Dade College which to date has awarded scholarships to more than 100 students. This year, the Miami Bayside Foundation created an endowment fund at Florida International University as well as funded a new First Generation Scholarship Program which will be enacted this fall at FIU.

The Miami Bayside Foundation will celebrate community involvement, entrepreneurship, and scholarship endeavors at a networking event on Thursday, October 27. The event will take place at Kork Wine and Cheese located in the heart of Downtown Miami (2 South Miami Ave.).

Beginning at 5 p.m., the Miami Bayside Foundation will present the recipients of its annual scholarship program at Miami Dade College. The 19 students who were selected based on their record for academic excellence and interest in entrepreneurship are also City of Miami residents.

“The Miami Bayside Foundation is proud to foster young entrepreneurs,” said Nathan Kurland, chairman of the Foundation’s scholarship committee. “It is our mission to encourage young minority students in our community to continue their business education by providing them with the financial resources to make it happen.”

Following the scholarship presentation, guests are invited to a networking reception where they can also meet Miami Bayside Foundation’s corporate partners and loan recipients. Providing an opportunity to connect with local companies and organizations, active members of the community and aspiring entrepreneurs, the Foundation is excited to bring all of their constituencies together in one place.

The Miami Bayside Foundation, a City of Miami-based nonprofit established in 1986, has created and administered a loan program for minority businesses, has established a scholarship fund for minorities studying entrepreneurship and business, and provides technical assistance to community and development organizations in the City of Miami.

Registration for this event is $10 and includes appetizers, a glass of wine and coffee provided by Panther Coffee.  To register for this event, sign up at http://baysidefoundation.eventbrite.com.
